DJ DSL has been a European Hip Hop phenomenon for some 16 years now. The Viennese-born Turntablist rocked an ever growing community of fans in the global club scene before finally releasing his first solo-album in 2002, simply called “#1”, on the G-stone Label (Kruder&Dorfmeister). The record has the same effect as his DJ-sets. It´s uplifting, soulful and bass-heavy. Finely honed beats are taken apart, structures are minimal but the effect is devastating and reminiscent of what a classic soul-record can do to its listeners. This guy has a magic of his own!
